Kydex Gun Holsters Molded to Your Exact Handgun
Every GRITR gun holster is molded to a specific handgun model rather than a size bracket, so your pistol seats the same way every time you holster it. That matters whether you carry concealed for twelve hours a day, run a duty rig, or shoot a match on the weekend. Pick the carry position that suits your build and your cover garment, then pick the exact model that matches the pistol in your safe.
Holsters are formed from .08 in (2mm) USA-made Kydex, with a full-length sweat guard and the Posi-Click Audible Retention Lock System so you hear the pistol seat. An adjustable retention screw lets you set draw tension yourself. Every holster is optic-cut, and the open-bottom design clears threaded barrels and compensators. All of it is covered by the Unlimited GRIT Lifetime Warranty.
Choose Your Carry Position
Start with position, then narrow to your pistol. IWB holsters ride inside the waistband at 3 to 5 o'clock for everyday concealment, while OWB holsters sit on the belt for a faster draw. Appendix carry holsters tuck at 12 to 1 o'clock with an integrated claw. OMNI convertible holsters ship with both attachments so one rig covers IWB and OWB. If you run a weapon light, go to light bearing holsters. Round out the setup with mag carriers and holster accessories.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between IWB and OWB holsters?
An IWB holster carries the pistol inside your waistband, an OWB holster carries it outside on the belt. IWB gives you deeper concealment because the waistband and your cover garment hide most of the pistol, which is why it suits everyday carry under a t-shirt. OWB puts the grip clear of your body, so the draw is faster and the rig is more comfortable over long days, but it needs a jacket or an untucked overshirt to stay concealed. Many shooters own both and switch by season.
Are Kydex holsters better than leather?
Kydex holds its shape, and that is the practical difference. A leather holster softens and collapses as it absorbs sweat, so reholstering becomes a two-handed job over time. Kydex stays rigid, does not absorb moisture, and lets you set retention with a screw rather than relying on a break-in period. It is also hand-washable. Leather still wins on comfort against bare skin for some shooters, but for consistent draw and reholster, Kydex is the more predictable material.
How do I know which holster fits my handgun?
Match the exact model, not the size class. GRITR holsters are molded per handgun model, so a Glock 19 holster will not correctly fit a Glock 43X even though both are compact nines. Check the product title and the fitment list on each holster page, and note whether your pistol wears a red dot, a threaded barrel or a compensator. Our holsters are optic-cut with an open bottom, so those additions are usually covered. If you carry a weapon light, you need a light-specific model.
Can I adjust the retention on a GRITR holster?
Yes. Every holster has an adjustable retention screw. Work with an unloaded firearm, confirm the chamber is clear, then tighten the screw in small increments and test the draw between each turn. You want the Posi-Click to engage audibly and the pistol to stay seated when the holster is inverted, without the draw becoming stiff. Kydex relaxes slightly over the first weeks of wear, so expect to re-check the screw once after break-in and then only occasionally.
